Best of the Week

It’s Friday already!  I feel like this week blew by – but I was super-busy so that makes a huge difference!  Here’s what I loved about this week:

Dinner at Home

A super easy pork dish made dinner lovely Wednesday night!  I made this Balsamic Glazed Pork Chops (ok, so my husband made the pork chops and I made the sides).  I served it along with polenta for me (made with chicken stock and a smidge of Parmesan), brown rice for my husband, and roasted asparagus.  It looks fancy but it was a simple dish we both enjoyed!

Bargain Shopping with my Mom

All girls know a good shopping trip with your mother is a favorite pastime!  This week my mother and I had some time to hit up some bargain stores: Marshalls and Home Goods, as well as pass through some not-so-bargain kitchen ware, home and clothing stores in a nearby shopping center.  While neither of us found anything we just had to buy, it was fun to chat, look at beautiful (and not so beautiful) items, and just be with each other!

Deep Stretch Class

As a runner, my muscles get tight, tight, tight!  My husband and I found a great Deep Stretch class on Sunday evenings.  We’ve been taking it for a month and we both really love it!  Last Sunday’s class was great!  Not only was our favorite instructor back from vacation, but it was a super-relaxing way to end a busy weekend and prepare for the upcoming crazy week!

Twenty Degrees Chocolate

Ok, so this is a true indulgence!  And it’s ok to indulge every now and then!  This week we had some yummy truffles from Twenty Degrees Chocolates (found in Petit Philippe Tasting Room).  We bought almost every type they had in the store, and came home to judge them.  My favorites were the sweet and salty versions, the Caramel Fleur de Sel and OMG!, but I also enjoyed the Bananas Foster.  My husbands tastes, who are opposite of mine when it comes to the world of chocolates, enjoyed the Serenity Now (Green Tea and Lemongrass), Mojito, and Chambord truffles.  It’s funny my top 3 were his bottom 3 and vice versa!  But we both agreed these chocolates were delicious!

Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest for more up to date information on workout routines, recipes, and other things I’m loving!
